Roberto De Zerbi has revealed that Marseille decided not to sign Paul Pogba because they did not want to upset the balance of the team.
Pogba is currently a free agent after his contract was terminated by Juventus. Although he is still serving a doping ban. The ban has been reduced to 18 months, allowing him to find a new club in March. Marseille have also been linked with an interest.
However, De Zerbi has ruled out a move for the French midfielder. While he acknowledges Pogba’s ability, he insists his team is performing well and does not want to create an imbalance in the squad, especially with Marseille currently second in Ligue 1.
Most prominently, Pogba was associated with a transfer to Marseille in Ligue 1. Club bosses repeatedly spoke about the midfielder and former France teammate Adrien Rabiot lobbied for his signature.
